Rover and his buddies now have a place to get together.
Dunford Dog Park is open on Riverview Lane off Gratton Road, across from the YMCA. Local dusinessman Don Dunford donated the property to the town several years ago.
Town Manager Todd Day said the town spent $60,000 on fencing and the work was done in house. The park is open from sunrise to sunset and has separate, fenced areas for large and small dogs.
All vaccinations and dog licenses have to be current and dogs have to wear an owner identification tag. Dogs must be on a leash when entering and exiting the park. Dogs can’t be left unattended and the dog’s waste must be picked up and disposed of in the receptacles provided.
Owners must keep their dogs from being aggressive toward other dogs or people and from jumping on people or dogs. There may only be two dogs per adult in the park at one time.
