BRISTOL, Va. – The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol reported its most successful gaming month during May, as Virginia casinos combined to establish a new single-month record for adjusted gaming revenue.
The Bristol Hard Rock reported $24.18 million in AGR – wagers minus winnings - according to a new report issued Monday by the Virginia Lottery. That represents a 3.4% increase over the previous record of $23.3 million, reported just last month.
Hard Rock reported a single-month record of $19.27 million in AGR from its 1,327 slot machines in addition to $4.9 million from its 73 table games.
That play generated $4.35 million in total gaming tax revenue, with $1.45 million returning to the Regional Improvement Commission to be evenly distributed among host city Bristol and 13 other Southwest Virginia localities.
Through the first five months of 2026, Hard Rock Bristol reported more than $110 million in adjusted gaming revenue, a 6.1% increase over the $103.64 million reported during the same period last year.
Statewide, Virginia’s three permanent and two temporary casinos combined to report a record $108.36 million in adjusted gaming revenue during May.

Additionally, both Caesars Virginia in Danville and Rivers Casino Portsmouth each reported facility record totals for single-month AGR, at $37.99 million and $30.18 million, respectively, according to the report. That play generated $19.5 million in gaming taxes, with $6.5 million returning to localities.
Caesars Virginia reported $26.92 million adjusted revenue from its 1,534 slot machines and $11.06 million from its 88 table games. Its $37.99 million monthly total was 5% higher than its previous record of $35.97 million in December 2025.
That generated $6.83 million in tax revenue with $2.27 million returning to host city Danville.
Rivers Casino Portsmouth exceeded the $30 million mark for AGR for the first time, with $21.6 million from its 1,415 slot machines and $8.58 million from its 90 table game positions.
That play generated $5.43 million in gaming tax revenue, with $1.81 million coming back to the host city.
Live! Virginia’s temporary casino reported $10.7 million in AGR from 926 slot machines and $4.18 million from 32 table games. That accounted for $2.68 million in gaming tax with $895,000 returning to the host city.
The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk reported $1.08 million play from 132 slot machines, generating over $194,500 in taxes.
Over $156,000 will go to the problem gambling treatment and support fund.
