Chilhowie scorches Northwood
Matt Snodgrass became the winningest head boys basketball coach in Chilhowie High School history on Thursday with a 70-58 Hogoheegee District victory over the visiting Northwood Panthers.
Snodgrass has won 211 games since taking over at Chilhowie prior to the 2012-13 season. John Goodwin compiled a 210-99 record at the helm of the Warriors from 1977-1990.
“This is a program accomplishment, not individual,” Snodgrass said. “It speaks to the consistency of our program and the commitment level of our kids and assistant coaches. We may not always have the most talented team in the district, but everybody knows that they have to go through us to claim the top spot. We take lot of pride in that.”
Chilhowie got a balanced attack in the latest victory.
