Wythe law enforcement investigating fatal shooting

The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police are investigating the death of a man found shot to death early Thursday morning.

According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to Stone Drive, located in the Gunton Park community of Wythe County, about 4:50 a.m. There, they found a 37-year-old man lying in a driveway, dead from a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of family members.
