Fishing Day: The Department of Wildlife Resources Wythe County Kids Fishing Day will be held on Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wytheville Community College Pond. Free for those under 15.
Spaghetti Supper: Spaghetti and Pasta Supper will be held at Holy Advent Lutheran Church located at 4564 Stoney Fork Road, Wytheville on April 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. Spaghetti, lasagna, and other pasta dishes along with salad, garlic bread, desserts, and drinks will be available. Donations accepted.
Drug Take Back: The Wythe County Sheriff's Department will again be participating in the National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Food City.Â
Barrel Racing: Crab Hill Farm Barrel Race at 154 Fleming Road, Crab Hill Arena, will kick off barrel season on Friday, May 1, with exhibitions at 5:30 p.m. and a show at 8:30 p.m. Youth, Masters and Adults may roll from the open. PeeWee free/no payback, Open $33+$2 IBRA Fee, Youth $23+$2 IBRA Fee, Adults $18+$2 IBRA Fee. Â
Used-Book Sale:  On Friday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., in the little red bookshop behind the Wythe County Public Library, 300 E. Monroe St., Wytheville, the well-attended book sales are continuing. All are welcome! Come and browse and take home some good reads!
Paint Party: Crockett Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a Brunch and Paint Party on Saturday, May 2, at 10 a.m., hosted by Aiden Burkentine. Cost is $15.
BBQ: The Rural Retreat Volunteer Fire Department will have its spring barbecue fundraiser on Friday, May 8, at 3 p.m. Cost is $8 per plate or donation. The meal includes hand pulled pork barbecue with homemade sauce, coleslaw, baked beans and a dessert.Â
Plant-Based Cooking Class: Monday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m., at the Wytheville SDA Church, 1600 Chapman Rd, Wytheville. Come learn ways to prevent, reverse, and/or improve pre-diabetes and type II diabetes one bite at a time in a simple, delicious way. Free Admissions: Wytheville Museums will have free admission on Saturday, May 16, noon to 4 p.m. This will include the African American Heritage Museum on Franklin Street, the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace on Main Street, the Great Lakes to Florida Highway Museum on Tazewell Street, Haller-Gibboney Rock House Museum on Tazewell Street, Thomas J. Boyd Museum on Tazewell Street and the Wythe County Decorative Arts Museum on Tazewell Street.
Brews and Bands: Chautauqua's Brews and Bands Music Festival with Open Door Community and 5K will be held on Saturday, May 16, noon to 6 p.m. at 650 W. Main Street.Â
Radio Club:Â The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in Southwest Virginia and northwestern North Carolina. All amateur radio operator are invited to the on-air weekly gathering held each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. with a frequency of 147.090+ and 103.5 tone.
