Meetings
Local government — The Floyd Town Council meets twice per month on the first Thursday the third Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at the Skyline National Bank Community Room located at 203 East Oxford St. Floyd County Public Schools School Board meets once per month on the second Mondays at 6 p.m. Meetings are held at 140 Harris Hart Rd. The county Board of Supervisors meets twice per month on the second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m., and at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday each month. Board of Supervisors meetings are held at 120 W. Oxford St.
Homemaker Group - The Floyd County Homemaker’s Group meets every month on the 2nd Tuesday at 12:30 in the basement of Beaver Creek Church on 409 Ridgeview Rd, Floyd, VA. VFW meetings — The Floyd chapter of Veterans of Foreign Wars meets every month on the second Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Orland Phillips VFW Post 7854 at 186 Epperly Mill Rd. To learn more or help other veterans, call (540) 250-5917.
American Legion meetings — Floyd’s American Legion Post 127 meets the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the VFW building (186 Epperly Mill Rd.).
AA meetings — There are Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in Floyd County seven days a week. Groups meet at 6 p.m. on Mondays (Nazarene Church), 6 p.m. on Tuesdays (Women’s Meeting at Nazarene Church), 6 p.m. on Wednesdays (Nazarene Church), noon on Thursdays (Nazarene Church), 6 p.m. on Saturdays (Nazarene Church) and 2 p.m. on Sundays (Nazarene Church). Al Anon Meeting — Al Anon meets every Monday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Floyd Baptist Church (510 E. Main St., Floyd).
Floyd County Democratic Committee — The Floyd County Dems meet on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library (321 W. Main St).
Floyd County Republican Committee — Officials and members of the Floyd County Republican Committee meets regularly at the Jessie Peterman Memorial Library (321 W. Main St.) at 6:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.
Floyd County Women’s Club — The Floyd County Women’s Club meets at 6:30 p.m. at the Floyd Presbyterian Church (169 Newtown Rd.) on the second Tuesday of each month. Winter meeting may be cancelled due to weather. Anyone interested in joining are invited to attend their first meeting before applying to become a member.

Buffalo Mountain Brewery — Each Tuesday, Buffalo Mountain Brewery on Webbs Mill Road in Floyd hosts Nachos and Bingo from 6-8 p.m. Entry is $1, with a maximum of three cards per person Thursdays feature Happy Hour from 4-7 p.m., and live music by various artists from 6-8 p.m. Learn more and find weekly acts at www.buffalomountainbrewery.com.
Floyd Country Store — The Floyd Country Store hosts weekly music events on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Honky Tonk Thursdays are from 6-8 p.m.; Friday Night Jamborees are from 6:30-10 p.m.; Saturday’s Americana Afternoons are from noon until 3 p.m.; and Sunday Music Jams are from 1:30-6 p.m. Artists vary on Fridays and Saturdays. Wildwood’s Cruise-in and Music Jam — Wildwood Farm’s regular Cruise-ins and Music Jams begin April 16 and last through October. The events take place on the first and third Sunday of each month, from 1-4 p.m. at 2380 Floyd Highway S. Everyone is welcome to bring their classic vehicles and favorite instrument, or just drop by and listen. The kitchen will be open with a limited menu. Floyd County Recreation Department — The Floyd County Recreation Department offers a number of opportunities for a wide range of ages to get active year-round. Floyd Farmers Market — The Floyd Farmers Market is located under the Community Pavilion on Thursday evenings from 3-7 p.m. each week, and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Floyd Center for the Arts — A hub of Floyd creativity and artistry, the Floyd Center for the Arts offers seasonal events and classes year-round at 220 Parkway Lane S. in Floyd. An ongoing six-week Afternoon Arts course for kids age 5-10 occurs every Wednesday, and a new six-week session begins April 6. Living Light River Studio Yoga — Join Shirleyann Burgess on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for yoga sessions at the Living Light River Studio. Floyd Historical Dancers — Dance lessons in English and Scottish country dancing are offered free of charge to teens and adults the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 4-6 p.m. at the Turman Sports Complex (401 Kyle Weeks Road, Willis). Floyd County Historical Society — Floyd County Historical Society Museum at 217 N. Locust St. reopens April 12 with a new, music-related exhibit, “Music of the Mountains.” The exhibit features instruments, memorabilia and more. Angels in the Attic — Angels in the Attic offers flexible volunteering schedules year-round. Floyd Flower Power — Dedicated to making Floyd “bloom” this summer, Floyd Flower Power is operated by volunteers, who take time to participate in various projects across the county, such as planting 2,400 bulbs. Old Church Gallery: Floyd County's cultural arts museum, the Old Church Gallery, invites everyone to view the 2025 exhibit “Memories Sit Here -- Stools, Chairs, Benches & Their Makers.” This features pieces from thirty-five Floyd County woodworkers dating back to the 1800s. Also on display are examples from Gallery collections of folk art, baskets, coverlets, quilts, tools, artifacts, music, and the recorded memories of county residents. The Gallery House is located at 110 Wilson Street and is open to the public on Fridays 2 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Dec. 20. Old Church Gallery offers parking onsite and is also accessible from the Floyd Heritage Walking Trail.
