Main Street Christian School celebrating 10 years
Main Street Christian School is celebrating turning 10 and welcoming new leadership.
A non-denominational school, MSCS operates out of Community Heights Church in Wardell. Jamie Davidson assumed the role of Head of School in June and Allison Davidson became Development Director in August.
Jamie Davidson holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Mars Hill University, a Master of Music and Worship from Liberty University, and a Master of Divinity from Liberty University. He and his wife, Allison, are blessed with one son, Elishah.
Allison Davidson is a Southwest Virginia native and graduate of Honaker High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Bluefield College before launching her career in public relations, working with the Grammy Award-winning Crabb Family in the Nashville area.
Driven by a passion for education and serving others, Allison went on to earn a Master of Arts in Exceptional Education from Western Kentucky University. She then returned to Southwest Virginia, where she began her career in education as a Special Education teacher at Abingdon High School. During her time there, she earned a Master of Science in School Counseling from Radford University and met and married her husband, Jamie.
As Head of School at Main Street Christian School, Jamie is honored to teach Bible and Forensic Science while providing spiritual and educational leadership for the school community. He believes that Christian education is a partnership between the home, the church, and the school, working together to cultivate students who love the Lord, pursue wisdom, demonstrate Christlike character, and use their God-given gifts for His glory. Jamie considers it a privilege to serve the families of Main Street Christian School as together they seek to raise the next generation to know Christ and impact the world for Him.
The school started at Main Street Methodist Church in Tazewell and moved to Community Heights for more room. They serve Pre-K through High School, including separate K4 and K5 classes, a full Elementary and Middle School, and a High School program through a hybrid of live teaching and Bob Jones University online!
They are accredited through ACSI (Accreditation of Christian Schools International.) They are hosting a “Faithful Foundations” Vision Dinner Oct. 1 in the Charles R. King Community Center at Southwest Virginia Community College.
Jeff Keaton, founder and CEO of Renew A Nation and the author of Radical Faith and Saving Our Children In A World Gone Crazy will be the guest speaker. Keaton has also founded a Christian school and assisted in the development of several others. The event starts at six pm and will feature a catered meal.
They will also offer childcare for Main Street Students age 4-12. For more information on the school visit their Facebook page mainstreetchristianschool.com, email them at msstazewell@gmail.com or phone 276-979-4091.
