Warriors topple Indians
Asher Chapman contributed in a variety of ways – 16 points, 13 rebounds, five steals, five assists – as Chilhowie rolled over Rural Retreat for a 72-65 Hogoheegee District road win.
Chapman also drew three charges for the Warriors, who trailed by as many as 12 points. Jayden Schwartz added 17 points and Luke Mullinax supplied 10 points in the win.
The duo of Brody Allen (24 points, six rebounds, four assists) and Trever Shelton (15 points) were the top scorers for Rural Retreat. Eli Atwell added 12 rebounds.

Graham mashes Marion
Ty Martin had 27 points as the Graham G-Men mashed Marion for an 83-65 Southwest District victory.
Graham trailed 19-18 after one quarter but closed the first half on a 21-9 run and kept scoring at a high clip over the final two quarters.
Channing Disibbio (16 points), Cambel Fix (13 points) and Gage Palmer (13 points) also scored in double digits.
Marion was led by Cade Burchett’s 25 points. Hayden Hall added 20 points and Ethan Hylton finished with 10 points in the loss.
The Scarlet Hurricanes will be the third seed in the SWD tournament.
Graham won the league’s regular-season title.

Northwood downs Rural Retreat in OT
Brody Waddle scored three of his 17 points in overtime as Northwood edged Rural Retreat 60-57 for a Hogoheegee District win in Saltville.
Duke Colley and Adler Little also scored in OT for the Panthers.
Little finished with a game-high 19 points.
Brody Allen’s 17 points and Eli Atwell’s 16 points were tops for Rural Retreat.

Marion falls to G-Girls
Marion suffered a 49-42 loss to Graham on Friday as the Scarlet Hurricanes had trouble stopping post player Kadance Bowman, who scored 20 points and dominated on the boards for the G-Girls.
Sophie Scarberry’s 11 points and Krisalyn Dowell’s 10 points were also key for the bunch from Bluefield. Graham led by 10 points after one quarter and held off the Scarlet Hurricanes the rest of the way.
Macy Osborne of Marion led all scorers with 24 points.
“For everyone to be 7-3 it must be a very good league,” said Graham coach Dee Royal. “We played our game tonight and came out with a win.”

Chilhowie rallies over RR
Kylee Dancy had 10 points and 10 rebounds as the Chilhowie Warriors rallied for a 39-32 Hogoheegee District win at Rural Retreat.
Chilhowie trailed 19-11 late in the first half before completing the comeback.
Madi Preston added eight points and six boards.
Kynlee Lilly of Rural Retreat led all scorers with 14 points.
Rural Retreat hammers Panthers
Olivia Crouse and Kynlee Lilly each had nine points as Rural Retreat throttled Northwood 50-16 in Hogoheegee District play.
Rural Retreat led 18-0 after one quarter and 35-3 at halftime. All eight players who suited up for the Indians dented the scoring column.
Northwood, down two starters due to injuries, received five points from Channing Waldie.
