Woofstock 2026 described as ‘Paw-sitively Perfect’
The fourth annual Woofstock event raised more than $1,500 to benefit Smyth Animal Rescue and the animals they serve.
The Chamber of Commerce of Smyth County partnered with Smyth Animal Rescue to host the Woofstock fundraiser on June 6 in the Chilhowie Town Park. The event brought together animal lovers from across the region for a day of fun, education, and community support.
This year's Woofstock featured the annual pet show, a vaccine clinic provided by Glade Spring Veterinary Clinic, more than 25 vendors, free children's activities, a dog CPR and rescue breathing demonstration, and a variety of opportunities for attendees to support local animals.
Funds raised will help support critical programs, including spay and neuter services, pet food assistance for families in need, rescue efforts, and other initiatives that improve the lives of animals throughout Smyth County.
Smyth Animal Rescue, alongside the Smyth County Humane Society, works to address pet overpopulation, provide affordable spay and neuter services, rescue and transport animals, and assist families through pet food distribution programs.
Woofstock 2026 was made possible through the support of event sponsors, The Bank of Marion and Roger's Towing.
Organizers said, “We are truly grateful for their commitment to the wellbeing of animals in Smyth County.”
The Smyth County Chamber of Commerce and Smyth Animal Rescue also extended their thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, donated, and attended this year's event, saying, “Together, we are making a difference for animals in our community.”
