You remember those people, the overnight millionaires all too often selling nothing but bubbles and promises, both of which broke way too easily. Some of them, you might recall, made a lifetime of money and never made a thing except for an Initial Public Offering that knew no ceiling or shame. Henry Ford, you’ll recall, didn’t invent the car or the assembly line. He just perfected both and helped, with a post-World War II world, create the middle class. Both Ford and the dot-com 49ers are so America, so two sides of the same coin. And so electric car.
