EMORY, Va. — A $13 million community of eight new residence halls and a community center were unveiled by Emory & Henry College.

Emory & Henry College president Jake Schrum speaks during the ribbon-cutting of the new Village Community Center on Nov. 14. The community center includes exercise areas, a full kitchen and dining area, mailboxes, a laundry facility, meeting rooms and an outdoor fire pit and seating.
The Village Apartments at Emory & Henry consist of brick-style buildings and others with siding. Each apartment has three bedrooms and sleeps six.
Kat Hill from Roanoke, Virginia, is a sophomore and lives in the new Village Apartments at Emory & Henry College. Hill, who used to live in the dorms, likes having her own kitchen and bathroom in the apartments.

Each bedroom in the three-bedroom apartments at the Village Apartments at Emory & Henry College has bunk beds and a bathroom for each room. Downstairs is a common area and kitchen.

The Village Community Center has a dining area with full kitchen. There are also meeting rooms, exercise rooms, laundry and mail areas.
