As he stood just outside Saltville’s softball and baseball fields, memories took Brandon Gates back in time to his junior year of high school. He was playing baseball for the Panthers and hit a homerun. Brandon’s brother, Daryl “Lucky” Gates, was announcing the game. However, “Lucky” didn’t hesitate to step away from the mike and celebrate.
