David Wiley Keen, age 72, of Raven, Va. passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, in Ohio. He was born on July 29, 1945, in Swords Creek, Va., the son of the late Robert L. and Elease Whited Keen. He was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Mae Keen; his second wife, Polly Shortt Keen; and stepson, Clinton Barnett. Mr. Keen is survived by five step-children, Betty Marshall, Teresa Farmer, Harriett Cordle, Eva Johnson, and Ray Huff; and siblings, Ella Mae Keen Vandyke, Alfred Keen, Robert Keen, Beatrice Keen Ray, Jane Keen Ferebee, Vernie Keen, Nell Keen Stallard, Carol Keen Ball, and Howell Keen. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Dennis White officiating. Burial will follow in Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Va. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
