Kenneth "Howard" Collins Kenneth "Howard" Collins, 64, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord, Monday, September 2, 2013. He was born August 31, 1949, in Bristol, Va., a son to Margarita Collins and the late Robert Collins. Howard was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and graduated from John Battle High School and earned his degree from East Tennessee State University. He served his country in the National Guard and he was employed with Northeast State Technical Community College as a computer programmer, he also worked as a manager for Thrifty Markets and was a former employee of Valleydale Packers. Howard was a loving husband, father and son. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Collins. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Alice Collins; son, Kenny Collins of Bristol, Va.; daughter, Misty Collins of Bristol, Tenn.; his mother, Margarita Collins; brothers, Steve Collins and wife, JoAnn, and David Collins and wife, Nikki; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral services for Mr. Collins will be held 8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Brooks and the Rev. Wallace Amos officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September, 7, 2013, at High Point Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Gamble, Brian Collins, Robbie Collins, Jason Collins, Keith Ford and Ralph Ford. Online condolences may be registered at www.Weaverfuneralhome.net.
