Rebecca Cay Hale of Speedwell, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her home. She was born in Marshall, Texas, was a member of Legacy Church, and was a registered nurse at Wythe County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lonnie Hale Jr.; and her father, Harold Alvin Cawood. She is survived by her children, Margaret Ann Bowers and husband, William, James Lonnie Hale III and wife, Esther, all of Rural Retreat, Va., and Nathan Andrew Hale and wife, Kali, of Columbia, S.C.; her mother, Margaret Cawood; sisters, Donna C. Corker, Ginger Smith and husband, Fred, all of Richmond, Va.; nieces and nephew, Ginny, Tom, Megan, and Brittany; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Hensley and husband, David of Speedwell, Va. Funeral services were held 7 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2018, at the Lindsey Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Quesenberry and Pastor Junior Bowers officiating. The family received friends from 5 p.m. until service time. Graveside services and committal will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the Legacy Church, 2150 West Ridge Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382, or to the Fort Chiswell Church of God, 1193 Fort Chiswell Rd, Max Meadows, VA 24360.
