MARION, Va. Rachel Renee Chewning Lester, age 29, and her baby daughter, Amber Caroline Lester went home to be with the Lord on Sunday January 15, 2017. Rachel was born in Roanoke, Va. on July 14, 1987. Along with her daughter, she was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Sue Chewning; and her grandfather, Hassel Cox. Rachel was a Physical Therapist and worked at the Russell Co. Home Health. She enjoyed spending her time reading with her good friend, Hillary Pickle. Most of all she loved being with her daughter and her husband, whom was her best friend. Rachel is survived by her husband, James Christopher Lester; daughter, Isabella Florence Lester; her father, Jerry Chewning and wife, Pam; grandmother, Josephine Cox; brother, Terry Vaughn and wife, Farrah; sisters, Marsha Money and Sonja Daniels; father-in-law, James Harold Lester and wife, Darie; aunts and uncles, James and Barbara Dempsey, Jimmy and Debbie Eller, Steve and Sandy Smith, Ronnie and Mary Boothe, Roger Cox, Robert and Cathy Chewning, Cliff and Rosie Chewning, and Larry and Mary Sarver; special cousins, Morgan Chewning, Danielle Boothe, Larry Dempsey, CJ and Traci Chewning, Maria Testerman, and Megan Yonts; best friend Hillary Pickle, and a special Thank You to Kelsey Smith. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Mark Totten and Pastor Fred Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
