Riley, Charles Allen

CHILHOWIE, Va. Charles Allen Riley, 74, passed away on March 17, 2017, at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon, Va. Mr. Riley was a faithful member of the Cleghorn Valley Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Charlie also enjoyed spending time in his woodworking shop and doing carpentry work. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. Riley and Margaret Dean Riley; and a sister, Margaret Ann Riley Yates. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Doris S. Riley of Chilhowie, Va.; son, Allen Lee Riley of Abingdon, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at the Cleghorn Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Eller officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Middle Fork Cemetery in Chilhowie. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday prior to the funeral service at the church.
