Greenhouse Presentation
Tazewell County Extension Master Gardeners will offer a free presentation titled “So you think you want to have a greenhouse” at the Virginia Cooperative Extension-Tazewell County Office, 2860 Riverside Drive, North Tazewell, Saturday, July 18, at 1 p.m. Button Brady, Tazewell County Extension Master Gardener, will guide you through the potential minefield.

Golf tournament:
Tazewell County TRIAD will hold its annual golf tournament June 26 at Tazewell County Country Club. There will be a cash prize for the winning team. Entry fee is $240 per four member team and includes a complimentary meal and cart fee. Proceeds benefit local senior citizen programs.
Sourdough Bread
The Family & Consumer Sciences Program will offer a class on Sourdough Bread. Come learn the basics of sourdough and make your own starter to take home at 5:30 p.m. on June 23. Cost is $10.

Workshop
Monuments Across Appalachian Places (MAAP) in partnership with the Southwest Virginia Conservation Initiative Inc. and Appalachian Voices seeks individuals and groups from Southwest Virginia to participate in a free Commemorate Workshops in Cleveland, Russell County, Virginia, on June 27, 2026. The workshop is designed to help community members refine and develop ideas for new public memory projects that honor histories more than 50 years old while amplifying stories often overlooked or undertold in public memorials.
The June 27 Commemorate Workshop will be held at the Cleveland Community Recreation Center located at 6 Minor Street, Cleveland, Virginia, and will be the third in a series of workshops across Central Appalachia and online between April and September 2026.
