Warriors roll over Rebels
The Chilhowie Warriors are still unbeaten and once again looked untouchable.
The super sophomore quartet of Bryce Robinson, Dylan Martin, Tyler Gonzalez and Gunnar Milhorne delivered once again in a 46-7 pounding of Hogoheegee District rival Patrick Henry.
Chilhowie (9-0) has not trailed this season and the Warriors have allowed just one first-half touchdown thus far. Head coach Reid Sturgill’s club led 39-0 at halftime on Friday.
“Our defense continues to improve with each game,” Sturgill said. “We had some guys really step up tonight when their numbers were called. Extremely proud of our effort tonight in all three phases of the game.”
Robinson was 15-of-19 through the air for 168 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for a score. He has not thrown an interception this season.
Martin caught six passes for 81 yards and two TDs, intercepted a pass and had a nifty punt return for a score to cap the scoring.
Gonzalez made a team-high 14 tackles.
Milhorne rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while also making nine tackles.
Gabe Rouse (three catches, 52 yards) and Luke Mullinax also caught scoring strikes from Robinson. Anthony Canales added nine tackles and Isaiah Blevins made eight stops.
Top linebacker Gavin Walker of the Warriors left the game early with an ankle injury.
He still enjoyed watching Chilhowie take care of business.
"I think the biggest key was up front with the offensive line and defensive line," Walker said. "We were really physical on both sides and it really gave us the edge."
Jeb Stewart led Patrick Henry (6-3) with 121 rushing yards on 24 carries with a fourth-quarter touchdown to avert the shutout. He was limited to 20 yards on 12 carries in the first half.

Northwood rip through Tigers
Dawson Prater and Brody Waddle picked off passes and returned them for touchdowns in the second quarter and that helped the Northwood Panthers pick up their first win over Honaker since 1989.
Northwood (7-2) was clinging to a 14-7 lead when Prater intercepted a pass and ran it back 41 yards for a touchdown with 2:57 left in the second quarter.
Waddle followed shortly thereafter with a 71-yard pick-six with 51 ticks remaining on the first-half clock as the Panthers took a commanding lead, going on to win 42-21.
“That really changed our momentum,” said Northwood coach Greg Prater.
Waddle was a beast on both sides of the ball as usual.
The senior strongman rushed for 97 yards on 15 carries with two touchdowns, while he also had 16 tackles, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble.
Dominick Haynes (12 tackles, one forced fumble), Will Terry (nine tackles) and Skylar Boardwine (six tackles) also led a defense that forced four turnovers.
Brett Garner (11 carries, 81 yards) and Boardwine (13 carries, 79 yards) also rushed for scores.
The Panthers, with a roster featuring 12 seniors, visit Patrick Henry (6-3) on Nov. 6 in a major Hogoheegee District contest.
Northwood had lost to Honaker twice last season, including in the first round of the Region 1D playoffs.
“The boys executed really well on both sides of the ball,” Greg Prater said. “It was a solid performance from the whole team. There are a lot of great takeaway moments to build on for next week. I am beyond proud of this team and the coaching staff. The preparation, discipline and execution on the field tonight was top notch. What a great way to send the seniors out in their last regular-season home game.”
Honaker (2-7) played without sophomore quarterback Parker Lowe, who was injured the week before in a loss to Patrick Henry.
The Tigers received 132 rushing yards and a touchdown from Cole Morrison, while Brayden Justus threw for 173 yards with two TD passes to Levi Honaker.
Levi Honaker finished with nine receptions for 128 yards in the loss.
