Farm Fun Day coming up at Fairgrounds
The Rich Valley Farmers Club is hosting its first Farm Fun Day for children on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fairgrounds in Rich Valley.
Children are expected to experience fun activities about animals and life on the farm while learning more about the realities of farm life. Studies show that lessons that are learned in a fun environment are more likely to be internalized and retained.
Children will rotate through several different stations with hands-on activities. There may be coloring at one station and milking a cow at the next.
Of course, not every station has to be connected to farm life. Farmers need a break from time to time too so bouncy houses will be on hand to entertain the attendees.
This is also an opportunity for adults to learn more about the Rich Valley Farmers Club. The club generally meets once a month, shares a potluck meal and listens to a speaker on topics ranging from agricultural banking to garden preparation. Club officers will be on hand to share more about the club with anyone who is interested in joining.
