ORANGE COUNTY, Va. – Orange County is proud to announce that the Orange County Economic Development & Tourism Department received two awards at the Virginia Association of Destination Marketing Organizations (VADMO) Annual Meeting and Spring Symposium in Warrenton, Virginia. The department’s Corks and Caps program earned top honors in Best in Print Collateral and Best in Niche Tourism: Agritourism/Culinary/Winery/Brewery.
Now in its sixteenth year, the VIRGO Awards recognize outstanding achievement among Virginia’s tourism professionals. Corks and Caps stood out for its creative approach to showcasing Orange County’s vibrant craft beverage industry.
Corks and Caps is an annual beverage passport program running from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Designed to highlight Orange County’s award‑winning wineries, breweries, and distillery, the program celebrates the region’s blend of heritage and innovation, where vintners and brewers honor the land through expressive grapes, local hops, and a commitment to farm‑to‑glass quality. Each vineyard and brewery offers a unique story, inviting visitors to sip, savor, and explore.
Through the Corks and Caps Summer Passport, visitors create their own beverage trail, collecting stamps at participating Orange County craft beverage locations. The program has become a fun and engaging way to spotlight the strength and diversity of Orange County’s tourism offerings and to position the county as a top destination for Virginia travelers.
“It is particularly gratifying to receive this state-level recognition of our annual Corks and Caps program,” said Julie Perry, director of Orange County Economic Development & Tourism. “We created Corks and Caps several years ago to highlight the plethora of noteworthy and award-winning craft beverage businesses in Orange County. This double recognition by VADMO is a strong endorsement of the effort and our outstanding partners. We would also like to thank K Art and Design for their extraordinary creative support for this campaign.”
