Yard Sale:  West End Methodist Church, 1030 West North Street, Wytheville, is having their to-day yard sale Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.. Bargains for everyone. We will be selling our delicious hot dogs each day.

Music Festival: The third Annual Rich & Long Music Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Rural Retreat Dr. Pepper Stage.  This year's lineup includes, Freedom House, 12 Blackbirds, Town and Country, Of The Day, The Rich's and Jeff Tolbert & Primitive Road. 

Fall on the Farm: Richdale Farm Open Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, with Saturday hours, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday hours, noon-6 p.m. through Nov 1.

Hazardous Waste Day: The Household Hazardous Waste Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 8 a.m. to noon at 169 Kents Lane.

Used-Book Sale:  On Friday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in the little red bookshop behind the Wythe County Public Library, 300 E. Monroe St., Wytheville, the well-attended book sales are continuing.  All are welcome!  Come and browse and take home some good reads!

Autumn Blaze: Autumn Blaze to kick off Fire Prevention Week will be held at the Rural Retreat Lake on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Lord’s Acre Sale: The Annual Lord's Acre Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10th, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rural Retreat Community Center.  There will be homemade items, handmade items, homegrown items, and there will be gravy biscuits, sausage biscuits, country home biscuits, hot dogs and drinks. 

Trade Day: Ivanhoe Fall Trade Day will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ivanhoe Jubilee Park/Show Grounds. 

Horticultural Help:  On Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, at the Bland County Festival of Leaves, 31 Fairgrounds Road, Bland, the Wythe Bland Region Master Gardener Association will be having a horticultural help desk booth and providing information about gardening and also apple varieties along with pruning and collecting grafting wood (scion) for starting new apple trees in the early spring.  Everyone is welcome to stop by to ask questions about their gardening concerns.  Stop by our booth!  We would love to talk with you!

Plant-based Cooking School:  Monday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 pm, at the Wytheville SDA Church, 1600 Chapman Road, Wytheville. Come and join us as we are learning ways to prevent, reverse, and/or improve pre-diabetes and type II diabetes one bite at a time in a simple, delicious way. Craft Sale: West End Methodist Church, 1030 West North Street, Wytheville is having their Craft Sale on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Would you like to set up a table? Library: The Friends of the Rural Retreat Public Library will meet on the second Monday of the month at the library from 2 to 3 p.m. 

Radio Club: The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in Southwest Virginia and northwestern North Carolina. All amateur radio operator are invited to the on-air weekly gathering held each Tuesday night at 8 p.m. with a frequency of 147.090+ and 103.5 tone.
