Used-Book Sale: On Friday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the little red bookshop behind the Wythe County Public Library, 300 E. Monroe St., Wytheville, the well-attended book sales are continuing. All are welcome! Come and browse and take home some good reads!
Concert Series: Community Connections Day and Summer Concert Series will be held on Friday, June 5, 4:30-9:30 p.m. in Withers Park. There will be live music, vendors, food and community networking. At 6-7 p.m. there will be live music with The Dimestore Cowboys and at 7:30-9:30 will be Aaron Walker.
Festival: Bands, Art, Bourbon and Ale Festival will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2-8 p.m. at the Homestead at 1125 Tazewell Street. There will be summer fun, music, breweries and distilleries, food trucks, artisan market and children's activities. Free gate admission. Wristband are available for a $15 donation and get token for one free drink. Food also available for purchase.
Help Desk: On Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Wytheville Farmers Market, 210 W. Spring St., the Mountain Empire Master Gardeners will be available to answer any of your questions about gardening. They will also be providing information on vegetable gardening, raised-bed gardening, and planting in buckets for those who do not have land for a traditional garden. The event is FREE. All are welcome!
Plant-Based Cooking Class: Monday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m., at Wytheville SDA Church, 1600 Chapman Road, Wytheville. Come learn ways to prevent, reverse, and/or improve pre-diabetes and type II diabetes one bite at a time in a simple, delicious way. This month food samples will focus on "Mexican Cuisine." Summer Camp: Wythe County Summer Camp will be held on June 8-18, 8 a.m. to noon. Locations: Rural Retreat for students from Rural Retreat and Speedwell, Spiller for students from Spiller, Max Meadows for students from Max Meadows, Sheffey and Jackson. Registration is open for grades K-5 and lunch will be provided.

Senior Day: The District Three Governmental Cooperation will have a Senior Appreciation Day for Seniors in Wythe and Bland counties on Thursday, June 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Withers Park. Movie Night: Wythe County Parks and Recreation will host movies at Rural Retreat Lake this summer with free admission. On June 13, the movie will be “The Three Musketeers.”
Charity Cruise-In: The eighth Annual Charity Cruise-In will be held on Sunday, June 21, 12-4 p.m. at Walmart at 345 Commonwealth Drive to raise proceeds for the Children's Miracle Network.
Golf Tournament: Brock Hughes Medical Center will host the eighth Annual Memorial Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 25, with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and shotgun start at 1 p.m. Register at brockhughes.org or at BHMC, 450 West Monroe Street.
Dental Clinic: Virginia Dental Association Foundation will have a Free Dental Clinic at the Wytheville Meeting Center on June 26 and 27 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This will include free dental exams, cleanings, extractions, fillings, denture screening, X-rays and select root canals.

Radio Club: The Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club serves amateur radio operators in Southwest Virginia and northwestern North Carolina.
